I am new to CGOA and my question may be answered some where in your site, but I have yet to find it. I have been crocheting for over 35 years with everything I have learned being self taught. After being on here I see I have some more to learn. Is there any way to train with a Master? I have not been able to find one in my area of Richmond VA.
Sandra, CGOA does not offer a one-on-one program for improving your crochet skills. We do offer a Masters correspondence class that will help you evaluate and improve your skills. This class is currently undergoing a major revision. Please check the CGOA website and this blog for more information in late fall of this year.
Thank you to each and every board member and to Ex. Dir. Penny Sitler. I registered for Chain Link 2010 this morning and my experience was flawless!! I appreciated the preview of classes and was ready to go shortly after 10:00 AM eastern time. I registered for classes, meals, events and memorabilia with nary a glitch! I especially appreciate the new products being offered this year, badge holder and pen. It is up to all of us members of CGOA to help get the word out about crochet and CGOA. These items help draw attention to our beloved organization. The Friday party is a great idea and I am looking forward to seeing loads of crochet friends and having a great time together. Hooks 'n Happiness,Gwen Blakley Kinsler, Founder and Past President.
Just a clarification about the CGOA items that can be purchased at the time of registration: While a writing pen is not available, the following items are available:
--2010 Commemorative hook --CGOA member pin --15th anniversary CGOA pin --2010 Chain Link pin --CGOA badge/ticket holder --CGOA tote bag
